My fiancé contacted Capital One about a question with duplicate inquiries. She received a callback and got to talking with the rep.
They got to talking about the secured card and the rep said that the graduation to an unsecured card has been suspended indefinitely. She is welcomed to apply again, however for the near future, no graduations will take place.
not sure how accurate this is but it sucks to know that she gotta take another inquiry hit to get an unsecured product.
Capital one stopped graduating their secured cards more than two years ago.
well... I'm late.
now I know.

Well, they weren't very transparent about it, and they aren't very transparent about it now.
Depending on her profile, she might be eligible for bigger and better things than Cap one starter cards. I don't think they are worth three pulls.
I agree with you. Her EX Fico is 660. I think she should just stick to the secured card rather than receive pulls for another CapOne card. She pre qualed for the Quicksilver and she only received her secured platinum in May
Is that her only card?
Yes it is. She is an AU on 2 cards. One of mine with 7 years age, no late payments and another one belonging to my mom with almost 3 years age and no late payments.
We are trying to get her established.
she does have a CO from car lease with about 1.5k balance from 2017. This her only baddie and it's holding her back.

If her only active account is only a few months old, just let it age for now.
Consider settling that CO, it's probably reporting, and as long as that's happening, her scores won't go up much.
Also, recent (in credit age) unpaid COs are not a good look, so I'd try either paying it off or settling for an amount she can afford.
That way, she will be in a much better shape for the future applications and it might help her avoid additional secured cards.
Having only one account on her name and one open CO will hold her back.
