Re: Capital One policies on # C1 cards & frequency of apps

You can have 5 prime cards (venture, venture one, savor, savor one, Quicksilver), and 2 sub-prime cards (secured, Platinum, Quicksilver one, journey). What we don't know is if product changing a Platinum to a prime card moves it or if it stays a sub-prime card since all they're doing is adding the rewards to a sub-prime card. We would need datapoints where people specifically watch for that.

EDIT: we also don't know how co-branded cards fit into it, if they do at all.

Maybe this is correct...who knows? not me  (could be outdated)

That article is old and wrong and one of the reasons people think you can only have 2

Re: Capital One policies on # C1 cards & frequency of apps

It boils down to two policies. You’ll be denied the subprime cards if you have two or more Capital One cards. You’ll be denied the good cards if you have five or more Capital One cards.

You can be approved for a new card no more frequently than every six months.

If you’re denied due to any of the scenarios above, the denial will be based on internal records. Your credit reports will not be pulled.

Co-branded and retail cards aren’t included under these policies.
