Applied for a Capital One CC, got denied. Contacted Capital One to see if they could use the initial hard inquiry to apply for a secured card. Was told no because it violates capital one policy. Has anyone heard of this or been able to find a way around it. Thanks!!

CapitalOne's standard answer for anything helpful is "No."
Get in touch with EO.
Dont mean to sound ignorant or anything. Fairly new to the credit building journey. What does EO mean?

I have heard the same thing from them. It violates their policy and they wanted to HP again. I dont know, these ppl love pulling as many inquiries as they can even for just one app.

Their policy is crap if you ask me, they will tell you NO to everything you request from the frontline people. Only way to get anything done with them is through EO and I have a tough time doing that. Been 2 weeks since the EO office contacted me about a CLI on my cards. I check the account everyday to see if anything was done and nothing. I've already closed one of my Crap1 card because they weren't willing to give me a CLI after years and years of being with them and won't get rid of the stupid annual fee. Last resort is to close my other 2 cards with them. I'm not hurting for their cards, they have ben sitting idle for a good while.
Thank you all for the responses. I currently have no revolving accounts and i feel as though I need something current to improve my score. I have not opened any account in the last four years.

Sounds like you need a double diamond in your signature.
Or at least...You did.
