Re: Capital one multiple cards question

To my knowledge the sub-prime cards are the secured platinum, quicksilver one, and platinumore cards.
With capital one you can only have 2 sub-prime cards but you can have a total of 5 prime cards

I started with the secured a year ago (it is closed now)

I got the platinum back in March which I have converted to a regular QS no AF card.

So here Is my question, Is the converted QS card considered a prime card now? Or is it still considered sub-prime since it was converted?

I will be eligible to apply for another cap one card on the 30th. So if this converted card is considered a prime card now, essentially I should be able to get a platinum and a qs1 card?

You should be able to get additional cards.   But my question is why?   What is your goal?

No, the V1 is considered Prime.

Re: Capital one multiple cards question

Sunrise, my goal was to get another card to grow with the QS and eventually combine the two. But now I'm second guessing that idea. Maybe I should just go find a shovel and rake lol. I believe the garden has a spot reserved for me

Creditguy, it is actually a Quicksilver card it was converted from a platinum. I'm not in prime card territory yet, I have been working on my rebuilding for a few months now. My scores are just around the 615 mark across the board.

I do have a BOA card and Disco card, however, both of those are secured. The unsecured cards I have are the QS, a Merrick, and surge (it's getting the axe tomorrow before the AF hits) I also have overstock and wayfair. Like mentioned before I'm not in the prime range, but my plan was to apply for the platinum and the QS1.

PC the new platinum to a QS and hopefully have it around $2,000 by the 6 month mark, and I was hoping to do the same with the QS1.
Overall goal was to get my current QS to $3k, and both new cards to $3k and in 1 years time combine all 3 for a QS with a $9k limit

If you PC'd the platinum to a QS card (the exact card shown in your siggy) then you have crossed over to a prime card and what Creditguy was saying is why would you want to take a step back to sub prime cards with fees and no rewards when you just want to build on the QS thus being offered more prime cards whether through CO or other lenders.

Re: Capital one multiple cards question

I see what your saying, yes it is in fact the QS not the QS1.. So would this be there better option for me?

BOA 3/2/1 - garden it until the 1 year mark and it should unsecure in March 17'
Discover it - garden it until the 1 year mark and it should unsecure in March 17'
Quicksilver - credit steps in September, ask for another CLI in March March 17'

I'm going to go over to the rebuilding forum and ask some questions over there ashould well to get some more insight also.

Re: Capital one multiple cards question

Oh I also ment to add. Do not apply for another capital one card until I get a prequalify for a venture or another quicksilver.

Re: Capital one multiple cards question

This is good data for me. I need to switch from this QS1 soon to get a prime card. I had not been thinking about it and with scores in the 700's this is the only sub prime I have, although I need to check on my Barclay NFL card. That may also be sub prime.

You're in with 3 major banks so I would say yes to all 3, you don't need to add anymore unless you need a travel card like the Venture (but only do it if you see a pre qual).

Re: Capital one multiple cards question

I definetly appreciate it, that is what I have decided to do as well. I'm just gonna let what I have do its thing. I'm going to build the best relationship I csn with the 3 major banks I have. I believe they will grow to suite my needs really well.
