Capital one multiple cards question

I know you can only have 2 sub-prime cards with capital one.

I started with the secured a year ago (it is closed now)

I got the platinum back in March which I have converted to a regular QS no AF card.

So here Is my question, Is the converted QS card considered a prime card now? Or is it still considered sub-prime since it was converted?

I will be eligible to apply for another cap one card on the 30th. So if this converted card is considered a prime card now, essentially I should be able to get a platinum and a qs1 card?

Re: Capital one multiple cards question

If it still a QS 1 then it is still subprime, but if they sent you a new card that simply says QS then it's prime. So if it's prime you essentially would be able to obtain two new subprime cards, but the real question is why would you want to head back to subprime territory? You've moved past that phase, I'd just focus on obtaining further prime cards instead of building up sub primes, not worth the hassle or AF.

Not sure how true that is. I have a QS, venture, qs1 and platinum. Platinum was PCed to QS. I can't get a platinum or QS1 lol

Interesting, could be an exposure issue, but with Cap One who knows. Any guess would be as good as another when it comes to them.

Re: Capital one multiple cards question

Creditguy, it is actually a Quicksilver card it was converted from a platinum. I'm not in prime card territory yet, I have been working on my rebuilding for a few months now. My scores are just around the 615 mark across the board.

I do have a BOA card and Disco card, however, both of those are secured. The unsecured cards I have are the QS, a Merrick, and surge (it's getting the axe tomorrow before the AF hits) I also have overstock and wayfair. Like mentioned before I'm not in the prime range, but my plan was to apply for the platinum and the QS1.

PC the new platinum to a QS and hopefully have it around $2,000 by the 6 month mark, and I was hoping to do the same with the QS1.
Overall goal was to get my current QS to $3k, and both new cards to $3k and in 1 years time combine all 3 for a QS with a $9k limit

Re: Capital one multiple cards question

I have been doing everything to get rid of the baddies on my credit report and it shows. I was at 505 exactly 21 months ago and couldn't have gotten a $500 loan with $1k collateral. Now like I say I'm setting at about 615 average fico 08s across the board. I have a LONG way to go still. After I apply for the new cap one cards I'm going into the garden for 2 years.
Current cards
BOA secured 3/2/1 - $0/ $1000
Discover it secured - $0/$1000
CO QS - $245/ $1,500 (will pay down to $100 before statement hits)
Merrick - $0/ $700 (DYL will be $1,400 in 6 mon)
Surge- $0/ $500 (closing tomorrow)
Wayfair - $0/ $1,200
Overstock - $0/ $1200
Victoria Secret - $0/ $150

I do give each and everyone of my cards luv throughout the month except Surge, I pay them all in full every month and only leave a balance on one my big 3 cards, after it reports it is then paid in full also.

I thought my VS limit was low. I've been at $250 since last year.  Smiley Frustrated

Re: Capital one multiple cards question

Asgardian if I would have know it was going to be that low I wouldn't have even pulled the trigger lol. My prequalified amount with the SCT said it was $500 but once I submitted it gave me only $150. Sadly the card most likely won't be used now. I had fully intended on using it with the $500 limit it said I was qualified for to buy my wife some new bra/panty sets. But with $150 limit at VS she might be able to get 1 set lol

Re: Capital one multiple cards question

Super random.. So only the Quicksilver and the venture are considered prime with capital one? The ventureone is subprime?
