Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
From a Starwood Preferred Guest AMEX, to a Marriott Bonvoy Card AMEX, and now to a Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant AMEX Card.
AMEX/Marriott offered me 120,000 Bonvoy Points for upgrading my regular Marriott AMEX. All they want is $3,000 spend in three months, so why not? I have several Marriott stays coming up with one of them being at a resort which will get me around 1.5 cents per point. Plus it's a 50k hotel so I can use the certificate if they offer it to me before then. Easy money.
Data Points: I stopped using this card December 2018. I ran $5,076 across the card in 2018 which was most Marriott spend. This week is the first time I've used the card since then.
Once I'm done with the spend goal, I'm sure it will go back into the stack of other Marriott credit cards. I use my Marriott Chase Business Card for my primary Marriott spend. This is just so my AMEX Marriott cards will be at zero in the case I need to drop one to make space for another AMEX card. I don't consider this a card upgrade really, but the value of Marriott cards are all about the same to me because I only use them for Marriott.
Good day peoples
Yes, but with such a high AF, it certainly shouldn't be SD'd. Otherwise those 120K points are a wash?

I have the Brilliant and rarely use it. The earn rate is mediocre. The value for me is in the up-to-50k renewal night and the $300 credit.

The $300 credit will be easy to use for me bringing it down to $150.
I can get a lot more than $150 out of a certifcate that goes up to 50k points. I've been getting $175 to $270 out of all the 35k certificates that I get per year.
I should be able to safely sockdrawer it after I'm done.
