While some Walmart Neighborhood Market locations do code as grocery on Amex, most "regular" Walmart stores usually only get 1% with the BCE/BCP.
If Amex is treating Walmart Online Grocery differently that will likely be useful to many (including myself).
Yeah, this is what I'm wondering as well. Sallie Mae MC was awesome for my local Walmart (they coded it as supermarket and I had 2 cards under 1 account so I could double the cap). After it closed, I tried to use the Amex BCE, but it classified those same Walmart purchases as something else. If Amex treats Walmart Grocery orders differently, that would be amazing.

Yeah, me too.
I made my first Walmart Grocery purchase just a few days ago, and as luck would have it I used my BCP (there's a $10 Amex Offer) so I'll evenually have a data point but it will take a little while.
The charge has posted as 'Walmart Grocery - Bentonville, AR" with the same "Merchandise and Supplies - Grocery" that Publix and Kroger use so there's a chance it will be treated differently. It will certainly be a nice surprise if it is!

Awesome if it does! Please keep us updated.
In 2 weeks, Discover Q4 kicks in which is wholesales clubs and Amazon.com
All you need to do is buy sams club gift cards then use them at walmart. Effectively earning 5% on walmart, walmart.com & walmart grocery.
You can also max the quarter if you want to enjoy the 5% for a little longer or if you buy a lot of groceries.
If you are in your first year with Discover, it's going to be 10% due to the match.
Thanks,

That will work fine in-store, but Walmart Grocery doesn't accept gift cards.
I have been using the online grocery since it became available in my area and have always used my BCE and got the 3% cash back, here is a snippet of my rewards summary for last month.

Ooh... fantastic data point! It looks like those of us with BCE/BCP will get our 3%/6% after all!

Yes! Thank you for this.
I've been told that the Ebates Visa gives you 3% when you go through the portal. Walmart Grocery is excluded from Ebates portal cashback, but still gives you the extra 3% from the Visa. I haven't been able to verify yet.

Hooray! Thank you so much for that info!
