How long after your discover charge off were you able to get a new card with them?
I had a charge off with them in 2017 paid in full in 2019 to them directly and everytime i try to pre-qualify they deny me saying because of prior/existing discover account.

For me, my charge-off occurred in 2011, never paid. Approved for a secured card ($500 limit) in 2018 that graduated to unsecured 7 month's later and increased to $1,000 limit.
At the 12 month mark I was approved for an unsecured Discover card with a starting limit of $3,000.
Six month's later they closed my previously secured card for non-use (60 day's had passed since last swipe, card had zero balance).
I have never qualified for a credit limit increase when I request, always denied for "previous relationship"
This year they reduced my limit on the remaining card to $2,000. I guess since I just paid it off and a few other cards, they'll either increase it or close it.
Best of luck!
Around 2000 I had a c/o of about 1,500. In 2016 I got an invitation, I applied, and was immediately approved for a s/l of 16,000. Still have the whole limit, and it's one of my lowest rate cards. I had started my rebuild in 2011, so maybe about 10 years?
wow so they seem to have a very long memory no matter what..
Starting Score: 494 503 521I couldn't tell you as I've never had a charge off with Discover. I've had one with Chase unfortunately. I'm thinking that the fact that it's still on your reports makes it not a likely chance of approval. I would possibly try in 2024 and it's dropped off your reports. By then you will most likely be eligible for their secured card product.

I'm trying to get all my credit cards so by the time the charge offs fall off they will be at least a year old. Plus if i only get pre-approved for a secured version then i'll just take it as discover is not a card i should still want. But i do think you are correct about it not happening until they are removed. That sucks.
