Chase 5/24 or 7/24 apply to Co-Branded Cards?

I am curious if Chase co-branded cards are part of their 5/24,7/24 rule? I was in a Chase getting a new direct deposit form and the teller asked me why I didn't have any cards through them? I simply replied that I haven't been activly seeking a new card since I don't really need new credit. I opened 7 new cards (mostly store cards for places I frequent) within the last year and a half. She didn't really push after that so I forgot about it and just went on about my day. When I got home I decided to check and see if Chase had any cards I would even find of interest. After researching I saw they have some hotel cards and a Disney card that would work well with our family, as we do travel a couple times a year. I have a college checking account that I have had for about 6 years but that is the only relationship I have with them. I guess the only other question I have is...Will their co-branded cards show up as pre approvals on their site or do you have to just cold app and wish for the best? Any information would be appreciated.Thank you!

All chase cards are subject to the rule including cobranded. It is 5/24 and not 7/24. Also, cobranded cards won’t show on preapprovals.

Don't the United cards show up or is that only for green checkmark/in-branch pre-approvals?

From what I understand, now ALL Chase cards are under the 5/24 rule. Of course, there are actual several examples of people being approved for Chase cards at 8/24, 12/24 and beyond lol

I don’t think we can say it enough when it comes to credit: YMMV.

Depending on cross-selling opportunities, some co-branded/partner [personal] cards can display as pre-approved offers in-branch only, not online.  United, Southwest, Marriott/Bonvoy are some examples.

Just keep in mind that the co-branded/partner cards are still subject to the 5/24 restriction and in-branch pre-approval offers are not very common for those products.

Re: Chase 5/24 or 7/24 apply to Co-Branded Cards?

Chase uses 5/24 as the standard. 5 new accounts in 24 months. Online there only is going to be preapproval for Chase 1st party product as that is what the software is designed for. It is very hard to preapprove when someone else is setting the standard. In branch sometimes there are agreements to cross sell product and you can get the rare preapproval that was for a co-branded account. When it somes to applying 5/24 Chase can fully control the 1st party products like the Freedom, Ink, Sapphire, and Slate lines. On co-branded cards the brand usually has final say on how the card is structured. If a brand does not like 5/24 they will opt out. There are still a few brands that do but they are getting less and less. Generally brands will happilly play along with their issuer if they think it will help them. An example being how many cards got upgraded to contactless where even cards such as the AARP got it and the target customer is old and retired. Meanwhile the Amazon Prime card did not get upgraded yet even though Amazon is a huge bahemoth because Amazon is primarilly an online merchant and they prefer the metal card over the benifit of contactless.
