Re: Chase Amazon Rewards Visa

I was just Approved for it. They pull EQ and EX for me. My scores were 640-666. I wasn't instantly approved because my app was thrown into verification because of my address.

I love it. It's also my first chase card so I am even more happy to finally be in with Chase. I am a big Amazon shopper! So right now this card is perfect for me! I only use it on amazon to get the 3% back. I also have the Amazon store card because that offers no interest deals. So when I buying something big I put it on my Amazon store card and get the free financing and have a couple months to pay it off but when it's something low in price or something I'm planning to PIF with I put it on my Chase Amaozn card to get the cash back and then I just PIF to avoid the interest.

Down the road, when my credit is ready I will probably get the Sallie Mae and I def want the Chase Freedom so when that time comes I probably won't use my chase Amazon as much but right now I love it!

Re: Chase Amazon Rewards Visa

I use this card quite frequently as I find myself shopping on Amazon when I should be paying attention in class. I also used it as an in with chase after being denied for a freedom, so I applied for the Amazon card the a few days later and was approved for $1.5k and then figured why not and applied for the ritz that night and was approved for 5k on that

Welcome to the forums.  That is one of the most interesting combos I've seen for chase cards.  Moi, I don't do enough traveling to warrant the high AF cards yet, and the deals for short domestic flights with Amex offset everything.  I still use my member numbers to accumulate rewards.

Re: Chase Amazon Rewards Visa

Thanks for the welcome. It is an odd combo with the two cards for sure but I usually take a few flights a year to justify the annual fee with the travel reimbursement as well as I stay at marriott properties usually when I do travel.

And I always shop at Amazon so that card was a must for me. And I had received that card before I noticed the SM card for 5% at Amazon  from browsing the forums

Re: Chase Amazon Rewards Visa

Like many others, this was my first card. It was agreat for a couple eyars until I moved on to other cards. 2% back on drugstores was nice, as was the gas and Amazon rewards.

Does the Amazon Prime for $99 get the 3%?

The $99 amazon prime should get the 3%. When I renewed my $49 student amazon prime it gave me my 3%

The card has awesome rewards, but a pain in the ass for a CLI, what you would expect of Chase.

Re: Chase Amazon Rewards Visa

I spend about $1500 a month at Amazon, but certainly not on the Chase Amazon.  The card is great for getting your foot in the door with Chase, but absolutely useless after that.  Unless you spend more than like $60k a year at Amazon.  I can see it being useful for a business I guess.  If mine wasn't one of my older accounts I would have closed it long ago.  They need to offer closer to 5% before I'll ever use it again.

I wouldn't say "awesome" at all.   It's fine until you can get better cards, but 3% on a category where you can get 5%, and a handful of 2% when there are 2% everywhere cards, doesn't really count as exciting, let alone awesome!
