My Freedom card is exactly one year old this month, so I decided to bite the bullet and take a hard inquiry to ask for a CLI.
It was issued at $4,000.
I asked for a $10,000 limit on the secure message center, and got a response asking for income, so I sent them back a response.
Today I got an email congratuating me saying they increased my limit to $6,000!!!
YAY! I was under the assumption they gave very small limit increases, I am pretty happy with my $2,000 CLI.
Maybe Chase is in a more giving mood now.
Did you get a hard inquiry?
Yes, on Equifax.
My Experian is frozen and I can not get it unfrozen, every time I try online I get an error message, and no one at Experian can seem to fix it. So I stopped caring for now lol.
Did you request that they pull Equifax?
Nope. Just asked online for a CLI, that's it.
What state are you in? I know they pull certain CRA;s for certain states. I'm in Boston, and they usually require EX here.
I am in Texas, and they usually require EX here for me.
But both cards I have from them (Freedom and United Mileage Plus) I got when my Experian was frozen. And both times they pulled EQ and TU to approve the cards (without me asking, they just did it and approved the cards.)
But last time I called in and asked about it, I was told they pull EX unless it is not available. So I guess it could be a YMMV thing.
I am in Iowa and they always pull EQ
