I have a Chase Freedom that started out at $500...got a CLI to $1000 last November 2012. I was also recently approved for a Chase Ink Cash for $5000 which was very suprising and exciting.
I charge more than $1000 per month and as my Freedom is my main card...this forces me to put some charges on my AMEX Green or make multiplie payments to Chase per month, which i'd like to avoid if possible...so I need a CLI.
Do you think its a good time to ask for a CLI from Chase on my Freedom card, in light of the fact that I was also just approved for a Chase Ink Cash for $5000 or will that not likely hurt my chances of approval for a CLI?
I bank both personal and business with them, if that matters...i feel like it helped get approved for Chase Ink...but i dono.
Make sure utilization is down on credit report before they pull it so chances of a CLI are better.

You can always request a CLI, just know it will be a HP. Essentially, the more optimal your profile/CR + income is, the better the odds for a higher CLI - which would make the HP worthwhile.

Well, yeah. I mean i just dont want to waste a HP for Experian...even though i have one falling off Oct. 1st...I dont know how Chase is with CLI's since ive never tried for one before with them. Are they sensitive or pretty friendly...?
I have 5 Inquries
- 1 falling off any day now
- 1 falling off Jan 1st
- 2 well over a year old
- 1 From the Chase Ink App
All the inquries are from AMEX or Chase.
My utilization is about 45% and would drop lower to 40% once J Crew reports but that wont be for a month probably...I'm taking a 0% dealio on my Apple Barclays card which makes up most of my balances.
I occasionally see a post where someone gets a an auto-CLI from Chase. In almost every case the person reported near-limit spending and payment before statement date.
They're not getting an HP from me no matter what, LOL!
Considering the 40% utilization... is it possible to improve any of the other limits (without taking a hard pull) before asking Chase for a CLI.

Cap 1 - 500>750 ($250)
Barclays - $4300>5300 ($1000)
J Crew - $750>950 ($200 - hasnt even cut first statment yet!)

I just pulled my Experian Fico score...its a 682. Just for info purposes...
Oh wow, i just noticed that my girlfriend Wells Fargo account has actually reported on my credit report as an authorized user! That should help the AAOA a bit...
Utilization is 40% exactly right now, before J Crew reports next month...
It might be a time to use some patience. You might have the spending/payment pattern they seem to like.
Is the 40% total utilization (all cards combined) or only the Barclay Apple?
