Re: Chase Credit Card Approval upon total bank deposit over 10k?

I've actually been asked to apply at this specific branch, but, I just don't deal good with "quotas".

I'm more of a numbers guy than I am a customer guy.

And unfortunately for them, I do represent somewhat of the average American consumer, I'll love them until they slight me. I wish I could say otherwise, but that's how my mind works when it comes to service. I do tend to give the benefit of the doubt sometimes when it comes to banks/companies, and I've read quite a few horror stories about Chase, but so far, I've had great service from them and free money.

I just wish I could mail out those vouchers to forum-goers so they could take advantage as well.

Re: Chase Credit Card Approval upon total bank deposit over 10k?

If they can approve me for a CSP if I open an checking with $10k in it, I'll do it right away....

Is it possible?

AMEX: $25,000, CSR: $10,000, Chase Priority Club: $1,500, Freedom: $5000, Freedom Unlimited: $1000, Discover: $21,000, BoA $11,000, WF Cash Wise: $5000

Is it "possible", maybe. Probable might be the term you are looking for. I'd just call a branch and ask.

But then again, the CSR might promise you the world over the phone and after a 4 hour drive, the result very well might be different.

Sorry I can't be more helpful.

You would still have to have a decent file to be approved, even under special considerations. Meaning a 560 isn't going to get the Sapphire Preferred. It's used more for borderline cases. And the way it works is you need at least 10k and show that you maintain those balances for a documented time, meaning you can't just drop in 10k, get a card under special consideration then just withdraw the cash a week later. There's no written rule but I believe its anywhere from 90 days on someone with a longstanding relationship up to 6 months for someone rather new.
