It's been 49 months since I last got a Sapphire SUB. Thinking of taking advantage of the current 80K offer, but want to know if Chase is still allowing you to close out and combine card limits?
yes chase allows you to move limits.. might need to leave 500 or something, but limit reallocation is certainly allowed. obviously if want another saphire bonus need another card aka freedom or whatever to move limit to.
When I closed my CSP and moved the limit to my Amazon, Chase said I had to leave behind $1,095()

Yes you can do that @Schwartzinator. Probably the easiest way to do it is product change your CSR to a Freedom product. Then you should be able to reapply for CSR since you met the 48-month restriction, as long as you are under 5/24.
@Gunnerboy, I have two tips about combining limits which would have taken care of that $1,095. First, no activity on the card at all for at least six months. That includes the AF posting as well as charges or payments. Second, call to close before the AF posts. I ran into the same thing on my Marriott card which I plan to close. They wanted to transfer $8,905 to my CSR. LMAO 🤣 ... would have driven my OCD nuts. The AF had posted like yours so they held back the balance due $95 + $1K against the current CL of $10K. I think the CSR was a little annoyed when I backed out but I paid the AF and left it open for another six months. I've closed two other cards recently and been able to move 100% of credit limit by using that method.
