With the new BOA PR, while having a status of gold+, it is possible to earn unlimited 1.875X+ on every category. Based on this, I see that I might want to do a product change on my Chase FU. Is it feasible to change it to CSR or CSP? If not, I think, Chase Freedom should be the best feasible option. Any suggestion?
Just got my FU in May and regret not getting the F. The FU is really useless for me, but I don't want to PC it because I can wait for a SUB on a different Chase offer in the future. $150 in free money is more valuable to me than 5% categories right now, I think...
Actually, I should do the math and see!
The only thing I would caution with doing a PC to CCSP or CSR is that Chase now only allows you to have 1 Sapphire product, and you would miss out on the signup bonus, which is at a minimum a free $500. If you cannot (5/24 rule and no prequalified offer that bypasses it) or just do not want to apply for a new card, then you should have no problems doing a PC to either card provded the credit line is sufficient. Otherwise, I would PC to the Freedom and cold app for CSP or CSR.
While I really like the PR card and it's totally awesome for Preferred Rewards members, keep in mind that depending on how you use them UR points can be quite valuable. To put this as quickly as possible - because of the way I redeem Marriott points, my URs have been netting about 2.4 cents per point and I rarely use a UR card for something that's not 2 or 5 URs per dollar.

5% of $3000 in spending would be 15,000 URs equal to $150 cash, but spending $3k on the FU you'd have the $150 plus 4500 URs equal to $45 cash. It's too early to do the exact math. And of course if you're using URs for something other than cash with a Sapphire product, the math is going to get really complicated.
Is it feasible to PC this Chase FU to CSP or CSR?
Also the only consideration on Chase Freedom is that its high overlap of 5% rotating categories with the 5% rotating categories of Discover. So, to gain 5% cashbak on various categories, I think, a US Bank VS would be more helpful.
Yes, as I said earlier it's feasible but may not be the best route to take if you are eligible to get the 50,000 point signup bonus for applying directly for a new CSP or CSR. If you're going to have the Chase Freedom, the Discover it, and the US Bank Cash+, you may as well get a Citi card that can PC to the Citi Dividend card!
Feasibility isn't the issue providing the CL on the card is sufficient with needing $5k or more for the CSP and $10k or more for the CSR. As K-in-Boston notes since they allow you to only have one Sapphire card at a time doing a PC will NOT qualify you for the signup bonus which is pretty significant when you take transfer partners into the equation. If that's something you don't care about and the CL is big enough from there it's just picking which card fits your spending. Because if you get one of the Sapphires in the PC you can't get a bonus til the card is PC'd once again or cancelled and then you also have to wait two years before being qualified to get it again I believe.
I recently converted Chase FU to Freedom. It seems that Freedom is a much better card and it has more features (e.g. travel insurance; anyway it might not be the best CC to buy flight tickets). Since BOA PR can easily beat 1.5% cash-back of Chase FU on any category (gold+ member), I decided to migrate to Chase Freedom with its astonishing Visa Signature logo
