shane82388,
I would love to trade your Amex Green for my Chase Freedom. The cards get seldomly used. I actually got accepted with a very short credit history. Less then a year and half, so in regards to credit history you should be fine. As the previous posters have said it would be best to actually lower your utilization then apply.
All the best man.
Haha, nah dont get me wrong. My AMEX Green is my favorite card. Its a dream come true. I use it almost exclusively. Only problem is whne i get a place that doesnt take AMEX...i just wanted a decent back up that isnt going to pad Capital One's bottom line.
yeah i know the utlization is the thing thats kind of making me hesitate...
i just wanted to get it sooner than later because its just annoying having to go online and pay off the Capital One card after 2-3 charges cuz its right at the limit....lol.
Is it likely ill be approved just not for very much of a limit with the highish utilization? Or just not at all?
Shane,
Like you I was hesitant but i apped today for the Freedom since the only bad thing that can happen is a flat out denial. But possibility for recon.
Go for it. You have only an inq to lose.
i just got a cli by asking for one from customer service and was given an instant cli of 1000.
debating if i should call recon and ask for more but i doubt it will all my new accounts
I just apped for it and was instantly approved. I did the $200 bonus for $500 spent in first 3 months deal and got it.
I called the status number which confirmed i was approved and then it said my terms.... $500 limit with a 22% APR....Meh..not so great...actually technically worse than my capital one card, but i'm happy just to be approved for this prime card because it will grow and get better terms over time im sure.
Any suggestions or tips? Is this something i should recon or is a CLI pretty likely in a few months or whatever?
I'd love a Chase CLI (before Jan 8th when it posts $0) but have only had the card 5 months and won't get another inq.
Kinda weird...havent gotten a email notice I was approved....its been prob about 30 minutes. Is that weird or is that just me?
I mean i know im approved because the web page said I was and i called Chase and confirmed....just odd to me.
i got my approval email about 3 days later last year
i would call recon while your app is still hot so they dont repull your credit report

Yeah that happened to me when I applied online and got approved. I actually thought it was a scam since I was expecting to receive a Visa, rather I got a MC
. For me, the card came before the email
.
When I asked for an increase they pulled transunion
