My utl was 3%, but I had other negatives working against me so it was important to have a low utl in order to increase my chance for approval. They approved me despite having a previous unpaid chase collection and despite currently having one unpaid phone bill collection.I had to recon three times before achieving success. That one collection falls off in five more months. Can't believe how fast time is moving. This time last year all my credit scores were in the 500's.

A Chase CLI request can be tricky with even sub 30% UTIL, but would be a 99.99% guarantee HP. If you haven't had them over the year with perfect reports, don't even waste your phone time. When it comes to Chase, you''d be better off doing something constructive with your time in comparison,...... like changing the air in your tires or something.
Yea you need to get that nissan altima that honks (filling tires) when your overdoing things, it will honk as soon you get a Chase rep on the phone

that's rich! Only problem is, to get the Altima, most people would have to take at least one HP! And a new TL etc...
A lot of people, most maybe (even me at times) could use software that honked whenever we went to a CC application page for more than 20 seconds! Or the voice of HAL saying "What are you doing <insert name here>".
Ya know, I did check out those new Altimas (because of the seats they bragged about in the ads), they only had 1 out front I could look at (they were closed) so I could see the price, it also had the options I'd want (most of them lol)...... 36,000$..... 36 GRAND! I wondered if a lot of people just went and checked out used (2009-2010) Lexus ES's after seeing that...... which would cost less

I received recently a $300 CLI on my Chase Freedom. Requested it 7 months later of having the card, low utilization around 15 - 30% overall and I usually pay in full or carry a very small balance or my cards some months.
what are your current scores? i'm at $3,000 limit to start and in jan i was gonna try to get atleast up to $5,000 and get the VISA Signature version.
I have a slate with a very low CL since 2007 and no increase. I never wasted a HP trying, but I will admit my UTIL has been pretty high. Working on getting it down in the next few months.
Once my UTIL is way down I want the Chase Disney card. Hope for a much better limit.
@Anonymous wrote:What is the highest utilization % some has had when getting approved over the phone for a CLI increase?
My card currently has a $2,000 CL and I have a 74% utilization % (very high).
In about a month that will drop to 55%. Any info and/or suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!
You seem to have decent limits across your cards -- is 74% your utilization on your Freedom card or your overall utilization?
I was able to get a CLI from $1,500 to $4,500 through underwriting with 82% utilization on my Freedom card and 29% utilization overall (highest utilization on any one card was 88%).
