Way off topic but..
I have medical issues, and NY changed thier law to keep insurance until the age of 29, provided you aren't eligible otherwise from an employer or over a certain income.. So I'm better off this way. If I work, I'd end up paying out more for medical expenses and insurance than I'd make..
ok,, now im confused, if u dont work and have no income why do u want CC's?
@PetRaccoon wrote:Hi all, New here.
I didn't see anything like this on the forum so far from browsing for a day.. so I figure I'd ask.
So I applied yesterday for the Cash Back 300 after 500 in spending at a branch. (No problems here)
But when I called the backdoor number to talk to somebody, the credit analyst gave me an odd response of:
We'll have to mail you something to sign and we need you to verify your age..
I'm 20. My FAKOs is 743 with EX. (Don't know if this even matters, Note: Pre Hard Pull score was 761) Your Fako could be off by 1-100+ points of your actuall FICO, so this score does not matter one bit, if you can afford it, I'd get my TU and EQ reports and FICO's here at MyFico, just so you know your true score. Out of curiousity, which Fako is it (Plus, Vantage, Transrisk?)
So, can I assume that I was approved or is this just extra screening? Or should I call again and maybe see if another person says the same thing?
Thanks in advance!
I currently have:
HSBC Premier wMC CL: 5,000 (No CLI in 2.4 Yrs *sigh*) <-- Is it time that I ask? Does HSBC pull hard? Does HSBC even do customer initiated CLI's anymore?
Newegg Store Line: 2,000 (Don't think this is reported though.. at least not to all 3)
No Baddies on report, always paid early or on-time.
Its not that I don't have income, I just don't have earned income. (I get gifts, birthday, christmas, and savings from all the years of not spending)
Spend 500 and get 300 (350 inc 1% cash back) Is hard to give up..
And building a good credit portfolio is never a bad thing.
To Mustanglvr2006:
Its the Plus score from freecreditreport I got a deal to pay 8.47 a month for two years, so I figure that I'd use it to watch if/when someone hard pulls without my knowledge alerting me to I-theft.
They do have customer initated CLIs, its available online in an automated form, but it doesn't say if its hard or soft. =\
ok, il give u that,,,,,, btw off topic,,, luv ur scores musty
Okay, well took your advice, at 20% off, wasn't as expensive as it was yesterday, Glad I held off. But these are the MyFico scores.

Those are very nice scores, I would not app for anything further right now, see what happens with the Chase, you really don't need more CC's at this time.
Use the cards you have now, build a perfect payment history and when the time come's that you need more credit then app for what you need.
But don't do what a lot of people do and regret it, go on an app spree with an itchy trigger finger. Plan out your goals and apply for credit only when you need it.
easy to say musty,,, lol,,, hard to do
Thanks, and yeah, Its taken me 2yr 4mo just to apply for my second. (And Its making me all paranoid as it is, don't think Im going to app spree)
I mean, the Chase offer is just too crazy to pass up.. (Imo).
Not that I need it, but it makes for a really nice breather on things like my cable bill.
I also recieved this from HSBC..
