Chase Freedom Unlimited/Flex 5% Gas SUB Offer Going Away?

I have been eyeing these cards for about 2 years now, and was actually disappointed to see the 5% Grocery spend SUB offer recently replaced by the 5% Gas offer. A few weeks ago, I checed the Chase site, and along with the SUB, there was wording to the effect: "5% Gas Offer Ending Soon!" I was actually excited, hoping that meant the Grocery Offer was coming back. In the subsequent weeks, not only have I not seen the Groceries offer return, but I have never seen anywhere wording saying the gas offer was ending soon. Has anyone else seen this at any point? And do you think the Groceries offer will return, and how long do you think the gas offer will stick around?

I have no idea what Chase plans to do. I'm just glad I happened to apply for the Flex card in the weeks prior to the 5% grocery offer going away. It is particularly valuable because my local Walmart codes as groceries at certain registers. I mentioned that here a couple of months ago, but it was based on experiences of years prior. Now that Aldi prices have risen so much on certain items I decided to check out Walmart grocery across the street again. It is mixed high and low with Aldi depending on item but to my surprise it still codes as groceries in the self check area and also the first two regular checkout lanes closest to grocery. I can't guarantee this will work for everyone but worth checking out. Here is a screen grab from my Chase account:  https://imgur.com/a/wGbY4Cg

Great tip. I hope it comes back.
