Hey all, hope your day is going well! While getting all caught up in the feeling of seeing that "APPROVED!" page, I applied for Chase Freedom during my mini coming out of terrible credit app spree. I was given the 7-10 day message and ultimately denied. I know, I know, I probably shouldn't have applied. But, I did, and whats done is done (right?). Anyways, I tried recon and was told that they can't offer me the card because I haven't re-established my credit with other cards yet. Should I try again? Possibly tell them I'd take a miniscule credit line just to get my foot in the door with them? Anything you guys got will help.
Perhaps you should work on getting your FICOs up and trying again in a couple of months. How long have you had your current cards?

Thank you, and I agree, that's what I'm trying to do. I did acknowledge my mistake in applying to begin with, however you cannot harp on what has already happened. What's done, is indeed, done. That said, any advice?
Are all the cards in your sig new and are you primary on accounts?
Some new, some not so new. Not sure what you mean on your second question.
None of those are AU accounts (primary) = yours
Whats new i'm guessing secured cards are oldest but just guessing
Chase does not take AU into factor if you are one. They also like to see a AAOA of 6-12 mos. The new accounts possibly lowered your AAOA below that mark. Depending what your AAOA is.
Ohh gotcha. Yeah those are mine, not AU. My average age of accounts is 3.5 years rights now. I'm guessing recent inquiries probably played a factor as well.
Newest cards are AMEX (one pull) and Sallie Mae, just this month.

Recon again on the premise you want to establish a relationship with them most of all.....based on being the best rewards system from your research
Good luck I'll be pulling for you
