So I have been doing googling and think I have found the question to my anwser, but I just want to get some clarification because some site info is confusing on different sites and even chase's site.
I am flying American Airlines tomorrow, I actually booked my ticket through Orbitz because the deal was great. I went onto my AA app and checked in and it asked me if I would like to upgrade to First Class for 90 dollars. Having the 300 dollar chase credit, I said why not. I paid for my seat upgrade with the RItz Visa.
Once this posts to my account, this would be something that I can call up chase and ask for the statement credit on, right?
Thanks!

Yes that's a reimbursable charge. Ive always sent them a SM and they take care of it rather quickly. I would let it post and wait a couple weeks though before calling to see if it's reimbursed on its own.

Awesome, Thanks Irish! I just wanted to double double check because I will be doing the same thing on the return flight home and dont really want to pay out of pocket for it. Again, thank you!

In my case, I called them because when I sent a message, I was told to call them. They were friendly. They asked me when I did a seat upgrade , they confirmed the charges were on thr Ritz and two business days later were posted - $300
... we must love these First Clas Seat,,, Enjoy !!!!
I wish the airline credit was as broad as it is for the Citi Prestige. That would be AWESOME!
Yes, JPM Ritz's Airline credit most assuredly includes ugrades! For me, it's been standard practice to book a coach fare with either points or cash (highest reward CC of course!), then upgrade to First class with JPM Ritz.
Have a great flight!

Just curious, why didn/t you book directly with AA? Are Orbitz fares generally lower than the ones published on the Airline's website?
Thanks.
