I have the new one that I'm a AU on with a large CL. Then I had a fraud account with them, which long story short it went past due prior to me finding out about it, I filed paperwork as fraud they kept saying it was mine. So for 2 years I made the min payment with them after bringing it current. In March of this year I finally said **bleep** it and PIF, it was for like $500. I had 2 Capital one accounts like that also but they had CO, I got them removed and found to be fraud and I didn't pay a penny on those and they were big accounts. I shouldn't have paid the $500 but I just wanted it taken care of before I went to get a new car loan.
I know the Sapphire is one of their harder cards to get. I am pretty sure it requires a $5k+ limit.
They were pretty questioning of me on my United card app since its a Visa sig and required a $5k+ limit/
I'm pulling for you, Junior! I read this thread every day to see if you got an update. I am currently going through the same thing right now, only with the Freedom. Same exact thing!
Starting Score: 648My understanding was the Sapphire Preferred requires a $5k + limit, I thought I read that there is just a Sapphire and that would be up to a $5K CL?
Someone else is going through this situation? Can I ask how long you have been waiting on it, and if they requested anything additional from you?
If I do not qualify for the sapphire either card...can I request to go for the slate or freedom?

I thought both Sapphires were World MC's and/or Visa Sig's.
CONFUSING!
LOL, I have NO idea anymore!
@junior88 wrote:I just think the card is cool looking...that's all! I hope they take into consideration that my balances have went down from my last CBR they pulled. Who knows, I guess it doesn't matter. I have a sapphire card as a AU if all else fails! Just awesome to look at!
Did you want this card because it's "cool looking"?
IMO you're better off with Chase Freedom rewards program, because the Sapphire's rewards program is less appealing ( 1$For 1 point). For me personally, this card is beneficial because I travel frequently, and have two family members on as AU. Otherwise, I would've probably applied for the Chase Freedom as well.
Good luck ![]()
I kind of wanted it because of how it looked, I guess it doesn't matter to me either way.
I called today again to check the status, still shows as "pending". Its been almost 1 week now.
Any word on this?
Starting Score: 648I checked with them on Sunday which had been 1 week since the start of the recon and they still said it was pending. Any ideas???
That's strange, I had to do a recon after switching from sapphire to a united card (after applying within 2 months) and it was done over the phone. It shouldn't take this long, try another person.
