Re: Chase cards are now contactless

I used to have the prepaid Andrews card and it was definitely chip and signature (with backup PIN). You should be able to request chip and PIN for their credit cards though.

Re: Chase cards are now contactless

That's good news. I use contactless whenever I can. Only thing now is I have to remove my card from my wallet to make a purchase. I think I liked it better when I just had one contactless. It always gave me a chuckle to see the strange look on the cashier's face when I would just slap my wallet on the reader to pay lol.

Just got off the phone with Chase (the Sapphire Reserve line) and the person I talked to claimed November 15th availability for Sapphire and Freedom but couldn't 100% confirm. She was also saying something about an email or letter going out. I'll check back with them later this month.

The rep told me that they are mailing out replace CSR cards beginning 11/29.

Chase updated the page I linked in the OP with availability dates. CSP/CSR are some time in 2019 while Freedom/Freedom Unlimited should be available next month.

I get a strange look at my small town Family Dollar when I tap my Cap 1 card and it goes through so fast, their terminal doesn't have a good chip reader and most folks have to insert a card a couple times to get it to work, and the  dam thing honks at you when there's an error. The terminal also honks when you can remove your card, so happy to use contactless and skip that.

But I hadn't thought about just putting my wallet on the terminal. I also have an Amex contactless but it's on the top left side of my wallet while Cap 1 is on the bottom right, so I'll just have to open my wallet and tap the correct side.
