I just received a Chase Sapphire Preferred card last week during the "spend $3000 in three months, earn 40,000 points" promotion. After several posters here indicated that they had received/negotiated the "spend $2000" deal instead, I sent them a message through their secure message system and within an hour had a positive response that they would in fact switch me to this promotion, Yay!
Would you say that overall you have been impressed with Chase's customer service?
I've been with Chase since they purchased WaMu. I currently have both a checking and savings account with them. Their customer service both on the phone and at the branches has always been excellent. Unfortunately, I burned the credit card bridge with Chase with a CO when I was in college, but my local branch manager was a big help when I was finally able to obtain a GW removal after paying the CO in full. He said to wait a year and then come see him and he can probably push through a credit card app.
I never used to go to the branch, but know that I freelance in addition to my full-time job I have to deposit more checks and am usually there once a week. I started using the ATM, but have found it easier to go in and hand them my debit card and the endorsed checks and have them complete the deposit for me. There is rarely a wait and everyone is so friendly and even remembers my name that I actually enjoy the experience.
The spend $2000 deal comes with a higher APR on the card than the spend $3000 deal, so if that matters to you then be sure to check that you didn't just screw yourself.
Yeah, it's ok because I will PIF so it won't matter to me, but thanks for your input!
