Re: Chase restricting Sapphire SUBs from 24mo to 48mo

Does anyone happen to know if the time span starts from when the card was opened or closed/product changed?

Anyone know if you can still double dip?

I'm not trying to churn but wouldn't mind getting both still as long as the bonus is there. Otherwise the spend is inconvenient

You can’t have both the CSR and CSP at the same time unless it’s a result of a product change.  Change recently changed their ‘rules’ so that you can not get 2 cards in the same family.  Same as you can’t have both the Freedom and Freedom Unlimited at same time.

You can double dip if its same day but ymmv with if it will work or not.

Some people who have double dipped have have had their accounts closed.  So you do risk getting labeled a break-out risk from their computers.

That or they'll just close one of the 2 cards.

I know of multiple reports of SL getting slashed on 1 or both cards with CL dropped down to or close to the minimums ($5K CSP, $10K CSR).  I myself have not heard of any closures nor of any issues with both SUBs being paid out if the spend requirements for both cards were met.

The clock starts ticking when the card is opened.  If a SUB is paid out, the clock is reset to 0 on the day of the payout.

That would also explain the timing of Chase kicking this particular can down the sidewalk for another 2 years as the CSR was originally released in August 2016 - 24 months ago.

Re: Chase restricting Sapphire SUBs from 24mo to 48mo

AMEX only allows once in a liftime SUB per product, so I'm not sure why this is the worst news ever. People had to know this day was coming evntually. I'm surprised that there are still CC out there that churners haven't used up already, considering how long the rewards system has been around.

Yes, Chase Sapphire may be 48 months now, but AMEX requires reincarnation to be a real churnner.
