Citi AA Exec - statement credit

According to the article I saw this morning (linked below) on TPG, Citi will be issuing a statement credit of $225 upon annual renewal...that's a rebate of 50% of the AF.

It definitely takes the sting out and is better than nothing. Still, you're on the hook for >$200 in fee and potentially no benefit anytime soon so if your account renews soon I could see it still being debatable for some.

Re: Citi AA Exec - statement credit

My AF bills this month, and I was seriously considering downgrading.   When I called they offered me a statement credit of $100 after I renew or I could downgrade to the no AF card until all picks up again.  At $225 for the year I'll just pay it.  I have to believe that by this time next year between myself and my wife as an AU we'll get to the clubs enough to at least get that much value out of it.

Re: Citi AA Exec - statement credit

This was good news. A Citi rep actually told me about it before I read it online. It definitely helps and it was enough to keep me with the card as I do enjoy the Admirals Club and during normal times we travel 20-30 times a year.

Before COVID-19 I had already traveled 7 times and while things are closed now, it won't be forever. Good move by Citi/AA.
