Citi AA card upgrade before 1st statement?!?

I would definitely call Citi on this issue, especially if you have a 10K limit, I do not see why your card should not be upgraded does not make any sense......

Honestly I really don't care about the difference between WMC and WEMC...I probably don't use any of those benefits anyway BUT that being said, if you want to give that to me for no extra fee, fine with me.....I will keep the card as long as Citi offers me a AF credit or extra points as they seem to do regularly with this card if you tell them you are cancelling...they have done that with both my HHonors cards with them......also a nice benefit with the Platinum AA card is the 10% reimbursement of used award miles that the other AA cards do not have.....so is it a big deal deal changer for me, no but it is nice.....

Ive been wanting this card for a while, I wonder if I apply and if i get approved for $5k+ if I will get the WEMC version... hmmm

I honestly doubt this...for lounge access you need the Executive (with the 450$ AF) not  the Platinum  WEMC (with 95$ AF)...so it looks to me it is pretty much just a nicer logo than the WMC but as for the benefits not much different

Received the new card today.  I'm not sure if I'll ever use any of the Elite benefits but I'm extremely pleased with the way the card looks now.  I always thought the MC orange/red stood out like a sore thumb on a silver/blue card.  It's actually a very, very nice looking card now.  

Anyone else receive theirs?

Not as of yet. It's 1 of the last 2 cards I'm waiting on before I plant my seeds in fresh soil until Jan (the other being CSP).

I already planned on putting a little bit of spend on the card each month in hopes of getting a good retention bonus for the foreseeable future. Citi seems to be less strict than other issuers. So the upgrade just sweetens the pot.
