Citi CLI Success

It seems Citibank is ver generous with CLI these past few months. My prior limit was 4950.  Just clicked the citi luv button today and was given 750 instant CLI to 5700 my highest so far.

Two months ago also was given 750 CLI from 4250 to 4750.  Right thereafter, called citi for a bigger CLI and was declined.

Clicked BoA CLI and got the 5-7 day message. I guess declined again. Smiley Sad  How will I get past 1500 for BoA. It's so small.

Any chance for Discover CLI... I just got the card 3 months ago.

Re: Citi CLI Success

I agree with you in terms of Citi's generosity.

I got CLI from $3600 to $6300 without asking in 13th month of card opening. I got it in Jun '09 and got  CLI in Jul '10. If don't get it again in two months I am going to ask for it.

For Discover, I'd wait and see if you get an auto CLI at 6 months, and if not, I'd wait a year to request (they do a hard pull and don't tend to increase your limit much).

I've had a Citi card for ~3 years and I've gone from $5600 to recently, $10000. I just used the card for all my purchases (until my upgrade to prime cards a year ago - now I just have my Netflix subscription on my card) and I always PIF. I've heard they also like balance transfers.

You don't consider Citi to be "prime"?

Re: Citi CLI Success

Citi is picky on who they play in their sandbox... I would consider them "prime".

I guess I meant until I switched to prime cards with cashback...my Citi Student Visa was my first CC.

Re: Citi CLI Success

Get it converted to one of Citi's great cashback cards, the Dividend World MasterCard!

Anyway...

Many consider Citi "prime" (in fact, everyone does), they're pretty picky.

The 3 "superprime" are BofA, Chase, and Amex, in my book.

BofA Cash Rewards VS - $25k | Citi Double Cash World MC - $18.9k | Amex BCE - $50k | Discover it - $50k | Chase Freedom Unlimited VS- $10k | Barclay Ring $5k |
