I was recently approved for the Citi Double Cash card with a limit of $7,200. This is low compared to my other credit lines. I understand Citi will often grant a CLI immediately upon activation of the card. My existing credit limits are as follows and I have roughly 5% utilization at any given time:
Lowe's $10,000
BofA $30,000
Penfed LOC $25,000
Penfed CC $10,000
I also have a student loan, auto loan, and mortgage--all paid and current. Citi reported an Equifax score of 818. My main question is how high of a CLI should I ask for from Citi?
In addition, Citi set the interest rate on the card at 16.24%. The disclosure stated there was a 13.24% tier available. Although I don't plan on paying any interest, I would prefer to be in the 13.24% tier. Should I call and try to get that, as well?

Welcome to MyFico.
For the CLII, ask for $40K. They will counter if necessary. It will be another HP.
Certainly you can ask for a lower APR but it's not likely they will lower your APR at this point.
Good luck
Thanks for the quick reply! As to the APR, I can't help but wonder what criteria they are looking for.

Your welcome. It's hard to say with these creditors. Barclays gave me 23.99% on my Aviator card with a TU score of 815. Since then they've lowered it to 22.99% Go figure. I asked them why they gave me 13.99% on my Sallie Mae but won't lower the Aviator to the same. No answer. It's clearly not based on score alone.
Just activated and I'm not seeing an option to request the CLI online. Do you have to call? It is supposed to be under "account management," but the only thing remotely similar is "update income info."
Should be 2 columns and credit limit request is towards the bottom of the column on the left

You can call and they will transfer to lending or you can request a CLI online. It will take around 24-48hrs to get an answer online.

Same here. Though Aviator was 19.99, now 20.24. They will not lower. Maybe they want to see if we pay the fee? Want us to switch to their other card?

Not sure what does recently mean for you. But Citi DC have 0% Intro APR on Balance Transfers and Purchases for 15 months. So, your APR should be 0% now. Ask for APR reduction after intro APR expire.
I was in the same situaton. Was approved for 6500. Asked for CLI, had HP and was denied. From the other hand, my credit score was 760 and I had no loans...
