Citi Card Conversion/Product Change

I have been following the users on this board and how they PC.  So a few days ago I hit my 13th statement on my Dividend card, and called to see about a PC.

I asked the SE Asia rep to transfer me to an US Based Customer Service Rep first thing.  Hold. Transferred to a Kentucky Call Center.

So the following applied:

I was given the option  to PC to any card Citi has EXCEPT:The Simplicity or the Ford Card.  Coincidentally I had intended to PC to the Simplicity, so bummer on that I hung up and went on their site to look for what else might fit the bill and was more in line with a rewards program our family would utilize.

I called Citi  back, same rhythm, "Please Transfer me to a US based customer service rep" .  Connected to a call center in Missouri.

I asked to PC to Hilton Honors Reserve Card w/AF.  This was possible.  In 7-10 days new card would come, 51 days until conversion was complete, and to call back at day 51 and Request an APR reduction to the listed 15.24% APR for this card, (which is the only available APR for this card) because the system will not allow APR changes with the conversion, only a Req for one afterwards.  There will be a new acct number but the account age will convert over.  (I am thinking this is due to moving to Visa Siggy from Visa).  No HP was required for this.

My Acct had a 0 Balance at time of Req, 0 lates.   I did not ask for CLI with/conversion but he offered.  The Card converted is Dividend Platinum Visa.  Age 13 Months.

Interesting, do you still get the promotional bonus with your PC?

Re: Citi Card Conversion/Product Change

Congrats... I just PCd to my ThankYou Preferred card to a Dividend Platinum Select today and i plan on PCing my Diamond preferred to a ThankYou Preferred when the promotional APR runs out. Citi basically lets you PC to anything you want that doesnt have a running promotional APR. I've had my ThankYou Preferred card for about 2 years now and it's been stuck on $500 limit. I figured if i PCd to a different product, it might make it easier to increase my CL and what not. I also called Chase earlier too and they told me that i can PC my Chase Freedom card ($300) to a Sapphire. That really made me chuckle because i know the Sapphire card require a $5000 limit to start. Ultimately, the PC didn't work.

Re: Citi Card Conversion/Product Change

Hmm, I have heard that Citi can be quirky with PC requests. Can you PC from co-branded to a regular Citi card, say AAdvantage to Dividend?

Congrats on the p/c. Done a few with Citi and they have been good about it. The 45 day conversion is a stretch...
