Thank you, guys. Just got of from the phone with their Vice President. They will not reopen the account. Whatever. Can you sugges a couple of solid banks to deal with (not the CUs for personal reasons). I have CCs with US BANK, Ameriprise, Elan, NavyFed and Macy's. Thinking of BBVA Compass and PNC and Nationwide right now... Looking for more solid and "predictible" banks than CIti
Do you really need more credit at this point? If I were hit with a card cancellation due to "too many new accounts" (or "too much available credit", depending on which explanation you believe), I would be worried that my other creditors might make the the same decision that Citi did.
No, I do not, just want to get in with good solid banks and it feels good getting more available credit every 6-8 months... just need to find the right solid banks

Do you need more than 80K in available credit?
Why not? Plus it is always good to have relationships with different solid banks in case someone will decide to close another card on me))
why not?
Because the bigger they come, the harder they fall

And you don't think that, after your recent experience, your current creditors won't take the same action if they see you opening up a lot of new credit accounts?
I myself am shocked that you would put 8 AUs on an account. The FR and that issue was probably what put them over the edge IMO.
I was not saying I want to open a lot of new accounts, just a couple every 6-8 months
