I mainly applied for this card because I was missing a Dinning card. I just got approved for Amex BCP & Navy Fed Flagship earlier this week, so I needed a Dinning Card thinking I would get 5% back on Uber Eats/Door Dash/Grub Hub but Third party delivery services are excluded.
I’m hearing you can just get gift cards but how do I go about doing this the right way anyone with a strategy on this would help so I don’t feel so regretful this morning 😐
Grubhub and Uber Eats both trigger the 5%. I assume door dash too but I've never used DD.
Are you serious? I thought they were third party apps! Oh it’s on! I use those services every other day!
Thank you.
DoorDash, Uber Eats and GrubHub all code as Fast Food restaurants. This triggers the 5% catergory on the Custom Cash despite Citi saying Third Party apps are excluded. I've been using this card as a Dining card for almost 2 years and use DoorDash frequently.
This is so much great news made my day! Next week I’ll get to ordering, Definitely spend $125 a week so I’m only using it for those purchases. Thanks for the follow up secondary confirmation.
I just applied for this card to pair with my Capital One Savor One which offers uncapped 3% off restaurants, delivery apps, and bars amongst other categories. It offers a complimentary subscription to Uber One as well until late 2024 and gives you 10% cash back on rides and Uber Eats!
Personally I'd skip using the Custom Cash as a Restaurant card since the USB Altitude Go offers 4x points on all Restaurants and Delivery. The Custom Cash is better off being used as a driver for category spend that you can't maximize easily elsewhere.

I agree with this. I'd rather get 5% in some categories you can't normally get that 5% in and then I use my Alt. Go for eating out/delivery/etc where generally speaking 4% uncapped with no AF required is actually a pretty good return for that category. I like having both now.

@Titans84 I realize this is an older post but many thanks for the Doordash confirmation. Likely won't qualify for Altitude GO anytime soon, Doordash spend is near the cap but not over so looking forward to hopefully getting 5% back soon and closing SavorOne.

How far down the rabbit hole do you want to go? For bigger discounts with GC. And for me a bigger discount with my BofA CCR for online purchase @5.25% plus 1% debit card bill pay. Although the cost of purchase is 5% + 50cents per transaction. I just did a Costco for $200, saved $45 over all. about 22%
