Does being denied for a citi HP cli reset the 6 month timer?

To the best of my knowledge, no.  I know that getting denied a SP request does not reset the 6 month timer, so I'm assuming denial on a HP would not reset it.  The verbage they always use is '6 months between increases"

Does the SP offer come 6 months after open date or on the 6th statement? It took me a while to make a purchase so I'll be 6-mo-old next month but my 6th statement won't be until Nov. It should be next month for me, right? Edit: lol this was the original question from OP. Clarification would be great!

FYI- Well I tried today... deniedSmiley Sad I will try again after my 6th statement cuts.

Re: Citi DC CLI?

Citi credit cards are eligible for CLIs every 6 months, but it's not a guarantee you will get one. Lately, I've noticed people being denied for too many inquiries. Does it mean they have become inquiry sensitive or are they tightening the belt? Idk. I'm sure others will chime in with their opinions.

If there is a specific credit limit you want with Citi, I suggest taking a HP to get it. Aim high, they will counter if you're not eligible for the limit you requested. Please make sure that your credit profile and income are inline with the credit you seek.

Good luck everyoneSmiley Happy!

it has been lil over 6 months since I got my DC card and I tried to do it today but was denied haha. It says I have the max limit and they will have to do a HP and review my profile to consider me for me. My current limit is 24K, was wondering if anyone else got that message.

I have received this message. I continued to pay on my BT (Simplicity) and after a few months submitted a CLI and was approved. I took a HP to ask for the limit I wanted. I did the same for the DC. Simplicity & DC are the only credit products I have with Citi.

That is a monstrous limit for the DC. I would not expect any more CL on it. Most of us with 730-750 are hovering at the 4000-7000 SL area, for reference.

If SM's credit profile and income support it, he/she could get a higher credit limit. If he/she has other credit cards with Citi, it could also impact their decision.

Do you have other credit products with Citi? If yes, what is your total exposure with them?

My card is 6 mos. old, but 6 statements haven't cut yet. Waiting to get the message alert so I can see the denial reason. Probably too many new accounts.

From my understanding 6 months is 6 months with Citi. It doesn't matter about the number of statements. With companies that have 6 month timeframes, I don't usually submit my request on the exact day. I usually wait 3-5 days. I'm not saying this has anything to do with why you were denied. It's just the way I like to handle my credit profile.

Again, sorry you were denied. Please come back and update your thread with the denial reason(s).

Re: Citi DC CLI?

When we do have the SP offer, where would we see it on the account page after login?
