Ok, really, I'm just bored tonight, but I got a mailer for the Citi Diamond Preferred....18 months 0%, then 16.99. Not too terrible.
I don't need any more cash back cards as my rewards are already somewhat spread too thin. But the deals this card offers sound decent for actual savings. I called the hotline (admittedly, they're biased lol) and asked what the easy deals points can be used for and the lady claimed they offer gift cards, merchandise, local dining deals etc.
So it would never be a "use everyday" kind of card obviously as it doesn't offer any real cash back, but it could be useful to have just for access to actual savings. Not pulling the trigger, but just wanted to hear from people who had this card -- how is it? I know it's considered "useless" because it doesn't offer cash back but I have enough of that and it could be useful for other purposes potentially. Thoughts?

I've heard from others that Citi is anal about inquiries and new TLs. Good luck w/ whatever you decide!
That really is overblown. If your credit is good it's amazing how many inquiries and new accounts they will overlook

Interesting Irish! I've never heard that about them before.
Only way I personally would ever take that card is if it was my "IN" with citi.. You use to have the DC card and cancelled it guessing due to the CL they gave you, why the heck would you want this piece of turd?

You can have 30 inquires+ on your CB if your income and scores are good you can get the prestige, they want their AF $$... Might be a bit harder for non AF cards, but alot will still be overlooked.

Hahaha!
@Anonymous, I did have a Double Cash with a crap limit @ 22.99%. No patience for that, plus the reward system is (IMO) a pain compared to Quicksilver.
In another life I had the card. Easy Deals is really not much of a rewards program. It makes a good starter card for some one new to credit or rebuilding. P/c'd to another card as this was a waste of time. Now if you need the 18 month 0% it is worth your time. When I tried to p/c the card they made me wait out the 0% period. Grant you the rules of the game change constantly.

I think you have your answer then .. Probably their worse card with not much practical use and you use to have one of their best practical no AF card that you gave up
