I have 2 Citi cards, Dividend World MasterCard & Double Cash. For some reason under the CLI page for my Double Cash its language is on the lines of a HP (By clicking "Continue" you understand that we will obtain a credit bureau report to evaluate your request. Our credit department will notify you of our decision or let you know if we need more information.) while on the Dividend card its SP (It's easy to find out if you qualify for a credit limit increase. A credit bureau report will not be requested and you will receive an instant decision.).
I do have the Dividend card since 2007 compared to the Double Cash which is barely 2 months old.
I read others have SP language for the DC card and was wondering if this is with time it changed or if a call to the rep could make a difference.
Give the card 6 months before requesting a SP increase.
For both of my own Citi cards, the language changed from HP to SP just a little over 2 months after opening the cards. Check back daily. Also important to note that the SP language may still appear even after being granted a SP CLI (in my case it never goes away), but you will be automatically denied if you have received a CLI within the past 6 months on that card.
Thanks for the replies guys.
I would be dissuaded not to use the CLI button though, not knowing even after 6 months if they do an HP. Probably better to call and speak with a CSR to make the SP.
Also, can I use a SP made on the Dividend card as a point for CLI on my Double Cash ?

Citi will always do a HP unless the language specifically states that they won't. If it says they won't, they won't. It doesn't matter it it's a week or 25 years since your account was opened or you received your last CLI. If you really don't want a HP, I wouldn't chance calling them to ask for a SP CLI as the CSR you speak with will likely have zero idea what you're talking about. Citi has already done a SP in order to extend you an offer to apply for a SP CLI; from the speed that my CLI approvals have come in (or my denial for asking a day or two too early) compared to a new application, I really don't think they're pulling a fresh report when you click the button.

That's been my experience also. I opened a Citi DC on 4/30 and around 7/1 I realized there was the soft pull language in the CLI request tab (I checked after seeing a conversation here). I applied for a CLI on 7/4 and was immediately approved. The CLI language is still there but I'm waiting until after 1/4/19 to request another one.
Just asked and received a 2k CLI online. The entire process seems to be automatic with no human oversight. It stated there won't be a HP (seems no SP neither), the result was instant as soon as I hit submit.
Wonder if this is something new.

I would love to see an actual sp cli here but unfortunately Citi has colluded with Boa to cli block me 🤨
Glad to know I'm not the only one Citi has it out for.
