Okay. I had an itchy finger and I applied. I was approved. I was kind of concerned because I was approved for the American Express Blue Cash Everyday and Discover it card last week.

But after reading the old thread that the person who complain about not getting approved but was approved through the back door, I thought my risk wasn't really high.

Congrats! What's your limit and APR? I'm curious, as Citi is notoriously pretty tight with this card.

I'm just a student with a student's income so it's 2K and they said I will get the APR information once the card arrives. I had to call because I accidently placed my CR on alert. I pushed a button I didn't really understand.

Re: Citi Double Cash: How Many Is too Many?

Congrats on the approval!  I was actually in a similar situation where I applied for BCE and SM a little over a month ago, then applied for DC/AARP/BBR last week.  Everything was approved for me as well essentially instantly (BBR asked for a little more job info but it was still less than a minute for the decision).  My starting limit wasn't much higher (only $3400) but I think I'll spend another HP when I activate to try and raise it some.

What were your scores on approval?

Congrats! I think I only started around $3k, so don't sweat the limit. It's just how DC is.

I don't really know. I think it's 732+, and most definitely under 750.

Thanks for the "congrats" everyone. It was just a tiny bit nerve-racking when I applied, but I knew I had the backdoor to increase some chances.

Really depends on CR and relationship with citi. If you are in, you are fine.

It would help if you briefly read the replies. I already have been approved for the card. Thanks for your belated reply anyhow.

Re: Citi Double Cash: How Many Is too Many?

So how many inquiries did you have when approved with 2k SL? Which CR?

Check the timestamp. There is a glitch in that post that pushed it out in the thread sequence or otherwise delayed it from appearing timely.
