Citi Hilton reserve and cancelling

I'm trying to figure out options on this card. I have had it for two yars and the AF will hit next month. Is it possible to reapply and get the bonus again without having to pay this AF? Other than the signup I am not happy with this card. I don't have any hilton stays planned at the moment so I don't need the gold status and it doesn't even give you a free night unless you run 10k through it, which I don't really feel like doing. If I close the card I believe it will reset the bonus for another two years.

This is what I would do in your case. Apply for a new card the day of or a day after (if extra cautious) the old one hits 2 years. Complete signup spend by the first statement close. Close or PC the old card as soon as receipt of the signup bonus is confirmed.

I don't think so.  With Citi you can't get signup bonus within 2 years of opening or closing a card.  And that extends to the card family, so all Citi Hilton cards in your case.

Maybe try the AmEx Hilton cards, but if Hilton isn't in your plans I'd just find a card you can use with a nice sign-up bonus.

Next month he'll be just past the 24 month mark, so if he doesn't cancel or PC the old card first, he should be good to go. Hence the advice to apply first then cancel or PC the old card afterwards.
