Hey Y'all,
A few weeks ago I got approved for the Citi Premier card. I received it today and after activation, I decided to hop on chat and ask for a lower APR as there have been many DP of Citi granting these APR requests. Now, I am the type of person to always PIF but I like seeing a low APR number on my accounts LOL.
I was initially approved at 21.99%. After my first chat session, the rep lowered it nearly 6 points to 16.24%. A couple of hours later I tried again and the rep lowered it to 14.99% which is 1% below advertised. I think I might be warming up to Citi!
A few initial thoughts on Citi Bank. Their CS reps are very courteous and resourceful. I like their online dashboard but it could use a refresh. It's definitely not up to par with Chase/Amex/Disco. Also, though I will be using this card mostly for everyday transactions, it's still sad to see that Citi has removed benefits like price rewind and the travel protections. Still, the Premier is a decent earner and will likely stay in my wallet for at least a few years until I downgrade it.
Wowser! That rate was slashed...👍
Congratulations on the resuction!
Nicely done and good to hear about your success.
Grats on the APR reduction
Kudos on your part for making the call (chat) on the day of activation.
Being approved for such a drastic rate reduction I am finding it hard to understand why they initially issue the CC with a rate of 21.99%. Uhhh, hello Citi... are you trying to get away with all that you can?
Congratulations on your APR reduction.
Keep trying and trying. You might get it down to 0% and then ask them to keep it there for 18 months lol. Just kidding.
Congrats on the reduction!! Under what public APR range lists is a real win. 👍🏻
Congrats!
