Hi All,
Trying to get an idea of my approval chances for the Citi Prestige. Was originally going to try for the CSR but if I'd have a better chance with the Prestige I'll apply for that instead. It seems there are fewer datapoints on the Prestige so it's a bit harder to get an idea of what's likely to be approved.
My current info:
Fico 8 (through Amex) 754
3 Cards (1 is Au)
AAoA: 8 months
Oldest Acc: 13 months
Util: 2%
Highest limit: $27k
Always PIF
No negs
Went into a branch but they weren't much help, so thought I'd get some feedback here before applying!
Thanks
I don't think Citi's pre-qual page is as reliable as Cap1's, but maybe you should try it. If you get an offer for the Prestige (or a really good offer on the 2nd best card, the Premier), I'd assume that is a good chance of approval.
Thanks for the reply - I meant to mention that I don't get anything on the Citi pre qualify website. All I get is "we couldn't match your records to a Pre-Qualified credit card offer. See below for 3 other cards you may like."
Though I never seem to pre qualify for anything from anyone...
How long have you had each of the 3 cards and what are their current CL?
You don't say what your income is, but I don't think the requirements are too strict for Prestige. At least, they weren't back when it was a $450 card. I don't know if the minimum CL is still $2k.
I got a CSP with 14 months of credit history. That said, my oldest card was a CF so it was history with Chase.
If your income is more than (as a ballpark figure) $60k, you might go straight for CSR. I had Prestige from 2016-2018, then switched to CSR. I greatly prefer it to Prestige after all of Citi's nerfs.
Thanks All.
My accounts are: Amex Marriott Bonvoy (13 months, $27k), Amex EDP (AU, 8 months, $5k), Amex Patinum (4months NPSL).
My income is ~$100k, and my wife's income is about $120k.
At this stage was hoping for the Prestige as I have a lot of flights to book coming up and was hoping to build up some alternative points...

I'd go straight for CSR. However...
Citi can be averse to very recent inquiries with a few anecdotes of Citi declining otherwise healthy profiles solely because of a days-old inquiry. I don't know if it's an official rule.
Both Citi and Chase often pull EX. There is some risk that if Chase declines you for CSR, you might need to wait maybe two weeks before going for Prestige.
