Citi Retail + Bank Cards Linking under One ID

Just caught a glimpse of this on my Custom Cash statement...

Disclaimer: In the coming weeks, we'll be initiating implementation of automatic linking functionality to link all your eligible Citi retail and credit card accounts to your existing User ID. Once this update takes place, you will be notified with a confirmation email. Linking your accounts to a single User ID will allow you to view your accounts in one convenient location while maintaining the ability to manage certain preferences for each account. As a reminder, for the security of your account(s), please do not share your login credentials with others, including authorized user(s).

I knew that internally they viewed all accounts for total exposure, but now finally we will all be able to see all accounts under one Citi profile.

This would be a nice update. I know my BestBuy and Shell card portals look identical, but Macy's has a different setup. I wonder if it'll be Citi vs DNSB (or whatever acronym it is lol). Either way seeing 4 of them in one shot is much easier than using 4 different sites.

Given that they clearly mentioned  "eligible" I don't think that all cards would be included, at least for the initial rollout.

I would expect that those retail cards like the Sears and Home Depot cards that each already use the same base user interface (much like what Synchrony does) will be migrated, not so sure about others that don't like the Macy's card.  Either way, looking forward to the change.

Good point @coldfusion .  Did you read the post in the news feed about them activating their "option" on Macy's accounts due to the low revenue/activity generated?  Wonder if or how this chance could affect Macy's and Bloomingdales cards. Why do all the back end coding and migrating if your intended on leaving that business?  Guess we'll see....

Finally! It drives me nuts to have to do a different portal for the Citi cards. I have the Home Depot and Exxon and it would just be nice to have them all in one thing. I also have Bloomingdales but I don't think they will merge those since it's DSNB and it's through Bloomingdale's website.

Knowing Citibank, you'll probably end up seeing someone else's credit cards on your login when this "fix" is implemented....They don't handle software change well.

Yes, and I also saw the article a few weeks ago mentioning they were considering doing so.  No idea if they really mean to pull the plug or at this point it's essentially a tactic to look to keep the portfolio but on more favorable terms.
