I was just wondering if anyone knew when exactly Citi removed the option to be able to do a general-purpose statement credit redemption from its Citi TYP points program? The last time I logged into the Citi before today, Citi was still allowing the option to redeem TY points for a statement credit. Now, when I logged in today, the TYP program appears to have moved to a "Select and Credit" option, where you can only redeem portions of your TYP point balance for certain categories and only since your last statement. When did this change occur, and do you think it is better or worse than the old option to redeem points for a statement credit without regard to restricted categories and/or statement time limitations?
bump?
Don't know the answer as to when, but weren't statement credits REALLY bad value for TYP?

Very true, many thanks for the helpful reminder there -- yes I remember Citi significantly nerfing or watering down the value of the statement credit redemptions, over the years (vs. about when the TY program first started, for example).
