Did you report a card missing or something?
Did it switch from V to MC ?
Did you ask for a PC from one family to another?
Regardless of the answers.... your info carries over to the "new account" as if it was just a card replacement. No loss of history.
Ddi they have an old address on file or something along those lines?
Any electronic docs showing up online saying they weren't renewing the original?
What was the original card branding?
Did you see a HP notification from anywhere?
Then I really don't know. You would have ask them to take their head out of their rear and figure it out.
I know when I swapped a Premier to a DC it was a card # change but, I requested the change.
Out of the blue w/o any notification and letting it expire..... *shrug*
It's almost a foregone conclusion Citi mailed a card... so if you didn't receive it, it's a reasonable premise that someone else obtained it.
Ergo, account closed, reissued under a new number though usually in such situations (fraud prevention) you'll keep your history.
