Got an email from Citi about getting $100 for each approved referral to the Double Cash card . But they list the stipulation as:
1. Sending out the referral to people (20max)
2. Spending $500 on my card ( $500 spend must be met before the referral bonuses start.
3. Each approved referral you get $100 ( max is $500)
At the end it’s $0 lol
You weren't planning to use your card ever? You'll be reimbursed for $500 in charges. Pay some bills and not have to pay it back. Or buy something you want and let Citi pay for it.
Citi sent me the double cash offer and the Premier (10k TYP) same hoops as DC.
You only get it if the people who apply gets approved . And it states that it doesn’t start until you spend $500 first, lol what if the referral apply and got approve but you didn’t spend $500 yet so you lose out on the $100 lol
It's no different than applying for a card that gives you $150 cashback on $500 spend. If you don't spend $500 then you don't get the bonus. It's not rocket science.

Perhaps a bit of clarity?
You spend $500 on your DoubleCash, on items you were planning to spend that money on anyhow, such as groceries, gas, restaurant, whatever you buy for yourself.
After that, you are free to send out referal emails to friends so they have a link to apply.
If the friend applies and is approved for a DoubleCash card, you get $100.
There is no follow-on spend requirement for you, you don't have to spend another $500 once your friend is approved.
The first $500 of spend is all you are required to make, before sending out the referral links. There is no other spend requirement. So any referrals who are approved, you get $100 back. For a no Annual Fee card, this is a pretty good return to you.

Would anyone be willing to share their referral link with me? I'm looking to apply for the Citi Double Cash soon and figured it would make sense to use a referral.
Thank you.
Referral links are not allowed on myFICO.
Just to clear some confusion, my personal Citi Premier referral requires enrollment for the next 12 months (I believe they all do), and states that I must spend $500 or more on the card within the next 12 months in order to receive the referral bonus.
