Why? Didn't you just open it and take two HPs for it?
Yes but it is of no use since my dad now got smilegeneration with a $6k CL. Im cleaning things up before April.

I probably would have just SD'ed it, if I were you. But what's going on in April?
Because by April all these apps, CLI, denial letters, approval letters with CCs, Accts reporting to CBs, should have finished and be ready to go on FULL garden mode.
Removed myself from AMEX Hilton card.

wooa... why are you removing yourself from the au accounts too? if you close carecredit and living spaces doesn't that just leave you the wells thats in your name?
I really wouldn't close those... you need 3 accounts to build and establish the best score and being that those are joint they will be better for you then the au accounts but if you remove yourself from the au accounts too you now don't have the 3 accounts to build the credit while you garden.
Naturally people here are going to start flipping out when you mention closing accounts. Kudos to you OP. However, I would recommend leaving at least two accounts open.

Nobody can say this for sure. There is no magic number. Variety > quantity.

Okay, at least for qualifying for a mortgage
