Re: Closed Credit One

Just curious, have any of you who had your tradeline removed after closing your account, ever file a complain with the CRAs ? This sounds like a violation of the FCRA

The mandate is that information is reported accurately, but AFAIK, there is no mandate to report any information.

But yes, the removal of the TL is unusual.  I closed my Credit One account 3 years ago and its still on all my CRs.

Re: Closed Credit One

They do not have to legally report the TL. A small amount of lenders don't even report current open trade lines. The only thing they are required to do is make sure if they do report any information, that it is accurate.

Re: Closed Credit One

Evil genius move by Credit One here. Sucker people into keeping accounts open and paying fees because they are afraid to close it and lose the history. Yet another reason not to apply for that kind of stuff.

Re: Closed Credit One

Im not sure about that. I know CRAs dislike PFD because it circumvents the 7 year reporting requirement. There is a difference when dealing with a hidden tradeline that has never reported to the malicious altering of a customers file. While there is no requirement thst all account be reported to CRAs, IMO once they do report, they should be goverend to the 7/10 year reporting requirements.  Just my 2 cents If it were me, Id be filing complaints
