So I called this morning to close my last subprime card from my hard rebuild that I started 3 years ago. Surge Mastercard that was 2 years old and the AF of $99 was about to hit in a couple weeks and while the CL was only $2,000. Had not used the card since sometime in 2021. While it did help my rebuild and for that I'm grateful it truly is a predatory lender. The thing I liked best about the call to close it though was a toss up between the dogs barking and the rooster crowing loudly in the background ![]()
I'm now used to dogs barking/cats meowing and young children coming in to ask mommy or daddy a question but the rooster crowing is a new one 😂
Interesting anecdote about the background noise.
But congrats on closing the last one!
Congrats! I have this card and definitely will be closing it out at the end of year.
Congratulations on the next step of your credit journey!

Curious, how many points did your scores drop when the closure reported (if any)?

Congratulations 🎊🎉. Last person I spoke to
on the phone sounded like they were hiding in the restroom from their kids. Sound kept echoing and I heard the kids harassing her by the door 😂
Congratulations on this big move in your rebuild!

Congratulations on reaching this milestone.

The dogs and rooster were a nice touch: BRAVO on that and also closing!
