Because of the $300.00 limit and $59.00, they tried to keep me...lol...tried to tell me they MAY be giving CLI's soon, that I should keep it...but NO way...Not when I was just approved for a Discover More with a REAL limit of $4500.00, I also closed my rebuilder Orchard card...Feels good to finally get a real card...I also was preapproved for the amex zynk on the site and I apped and was approved for that card too...so good riddance to HSBC and their low limit cards...
I don't blame you with HSBC. 300 CL with a $59 AF is harsh.
Grats on your DISCOVER card! Nice CL too!
Just curious, how long did you have this card?
may of 2009 is when i opened it
closed mine yesterday...had it for 2 years, it was time.
I would make sure it's really closed. I had the same card, same CL with the same AF. I "closed" it 9/09. I noticed just today on my Experian report that it's still being reported as open.

I would think that would not be a bad thing.....

That's not a bad thing at all. As long as it's reporting as open it will continue to help your AAoA. Generally once an account is closed it will report for up to 10 after closing.
If it stays this way you are one of the fortunate few.
