Re: Confession time. What is your Holiday Utilization?

My util is about 3% for the holiday season.  I am not a scrooge or anything, I just have limited people to buy for.

My overall util is about 15%, that includes two sisters and a niece that use my cards.

My payoff date is the next statement!  (For mine only!)

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.....
Always follow these rules: Only take a HP for a new account. Always use the best rewards card for that reward category. Don't close a card unless you know you really should. Never use more than 35% of a credit limit. Recon as much and as best you can. Use the introductory period to the best advantage. Get the signup bonus. Whenever possible PIF or balance transfer so you pay less in interest. Never give an excellent rating when it is actually the norm. Always look for a discount as more is always better.
Always accept candy from strangers because they have the best candy or from people you know have good candy.

Re: Confession time. What is your Holiday Utilization?

UTI: 70%

Excuse: Light Chrismas shopping but also had 12.5k that I paid in medical expenses for DH, I graduated, got a job (needed clothes), got married, had three unexpected necessary cross country trips, had major surgery without insurance, dog had major surgery, bought a previously foreclosed house (needed appliances, fence and furniture) all within the last 6 months. It just sorta adds up.

Payoff: There is quite a bit on zero interest for 2 years. That stuff will probably stay on there as I don't have any need to app for anything. The other stuff should be within six months.

All of it should be paid off in January.
