Look little @Anonymous, if you don't get app for the delta gold by the end of Nov, we will break both of your legs, set fire to your house, and injure your family. NOW is the choice clearer?
you had your wish, denied yet again!
will post in detail at app thread
Said I was hooked with United Explorer but naturally thought my chance was non existent what with Chase 5/24 rule.
So thought of apping for Delta but useless for my preferred destinations like LRGV(McAllen, etc.). But then thought of yet another birding Mecca, Tucson.
Surprisingly, Delta had non stop flight(whereas United had none), and the price was reasonable as well, Main Cabin 277 mid December. So was too tempted with 300 stmt credit lol(effecitvely paying 0 for flights!), and sub requirement was easy peasy(1k in 6 months for 30k miles or something), hence, apped last night.
Took some time then got 2 wk message. Immediately tried the app page and it flashed, denied!
So 2 cards that dings TU, 0/2, but Amex did dbl pull EX again. Probably the same reason as before(sp), too many cards lol.
Amex you had your chance! Gotta patronize Citi(AA) and United(thx to Bilt, Premier Silver status till February! Priority boarding and 1 checked bag, the same benefit as Chase Explorer! And even more benefits) this winter lol, in fact AA has the same flight as Delta to Tucson, and even 60 dollars cheaper lol. And UNlike Delta, awards miles when booking Basic Economy! x2 miles via Citi MileUp, so what's not to like ![]()
Now, gotta score another cheap flight via United, using that Premier Silver status..! Just apped too much recently lol, so probably a deserving denial anyway. Since Amex says I have too many cards, gotta chop Tomo(1 yr anniversary today) and stop apping till mid January when about 12 HPs altogether fall off(just 1 yr, not 2 yrs)!
I'm interested in applying for this card. Don't they have the feature to see if you are approved before applying?

yes, denied before, so just cold apped this time at the Delta page while booking flights. If you wanna get stmt credit gotta app like that, not on Amex page
I was hoping you were working on figuring out how to utilize and not just lose out on tge SUB's on the cards you just got this last 30 days or so. But, well...sorry you got another denial. 🙁 You realize all accounts opened remain counting as "recently opened accounts" and "recent new accounts", and still ding your score for AAoA, whether you close them or not, right? What leads you to believe "Amex says you have too many cards"? How does closing Tomo card affect how your credit report scores you for "new credit"?
oh sub is doing fine, gave up on PenFed, but other 2, Citi AA and Elan, can make it, that post was just whining lol.
Dunno it always tells the same reason when they mail it to me. Should I wait yet another mail to arrive or should try to talk to CSR or somebody..

...though often a mid-booking offer on Delta.com that includes a statement credit will include significantly fewer miles than can be obtained through other card offers. For people who can meet minimum spend requirements, there's usually much more value in the additional miles than the statement credit.
I know you like to apply and don't get too worried about getting bonuses, but I feel that additional context is important here for others looking at Delta cards.
Most of the time, I avoid mid tier travel cards. I kept downgrading Delta cards. Now I hold a Blue Delta card. I can upgrade if I'm on Delta again regularly. But I just do not see that happening soon.
If I'm regular on Delta, I would want to go to its top of the line. The return is always better with the top card if you can use it.

you're right, just recently Delta/Amex had promo for 60k miles or something for spending twice the amount, not much really, 2k for 6 months. But then I was just too disappointed with Delta not awarding miles for booking Economy lol. If I knew Delta was competitive for Tucson then, who knows, but apped too much already from mid October, sooo...

you're right but I've ridden Delta only once in my life
That's why I was thinking of apping for BofA Spirit Airlines before which I use most often(but now am soured on it, I want free carry on, I've succeeded in stowing a tripod for a scope along with my personal item backpack on American to Boston last January! Used it well with my scope which I stowed in my backpack, braving the insane gust and cold at Cape Cod!).
Dunno if co branded cards get comparable Amex offers to main ones but intrigued about that, too. And I can always downgrade it to Blue, plus it has no FTF unlike AA MileUp.
Always wanted to bird Tucson, another Mecca for birding(this includes SoCal, Cape May..blessedly I LIVE in SoCal lol and birded Cape May last March!). Since Delta is competitive flying there, also to Tokyo and Seoul(others are cheaper for Seoul but require multi-hopping), so..for other US destinations other carriers are better imo(Chicago, Boston, etc. Been to Atlanta twice, Delta's main hub? but didn't use it either, probably Spirit lol). And as I said for Economy user, Delta is..crap, not awarding miles, not that I'm gonna accumulate enough to use award miles or anything ![]()
P.S. Just rechecked LAX to ICN route on mid Feb and United is better, Delta non stop gives 2 checked bags free but since I have United Premier Silver status(till end of Feb.) I can match that too, and layover is only for an hour at SF. Plus this might be huge but Delta doesn't award miles on Economy, and on this ticket United is like 50 dollars cheaper.
American tops it all though, economy less than 600 lol with 1st checked bag free, 2 layovers but both in the US(9 hrs at Vegas though!)
