Thats the problem with this country perhaps you should watch CNN for about half an hour. Americans feel thaht they are entitled to anything and everything and are not acoountable for their actions. you say the problem with this country are its peoples false sense of entitlement yet you are not criticizing a soul? even if you are right that sure seems like (unconstructively generalized) cirticism to me.
i think part of the the difficulty is that you've by and large chosen the wrong audience here. i suspect you are to some degree 'preaching to the choir'. many members have committed to be hyper responsible about their credit, and learn here as much as they can to do so. that's why they're here and not off somewhere running up balances w/o the money to repay

I dont think anyone likes to talk about this topic but I feel its the most important one of them all. I know this entire forum is dedicated to reactive advice about fixing Fico Scores. How about being proactive and being an advocate for responsible credit card usage. I truly belive that ABSTINANCE will get you a way better score than after the fact problem solving. What do you guys think?
FYI, as Flavor Flav says, that's another guy.

I really like to get to the Core of the issues instead of fixing them with Secured Credfit Cards and applyting every other week to see what they can get approved for or not. I knew people were going to jump all over but it is way better than "What Cards can I get approved with on a BK" ? I hate those post, Why dont they ask I had a BK I'm going to be finacialy responsible and build up my credit the right way.
Posters come here for information, not judgement or a critique of their question framing skills.
Perhaps you should re-read my earlier post in this thread...

When you get to sounding too much like Dave Ramsey Flava Flave is invoked.
He says have a nice day!

Pfft. That's just plain silly. I don't think the average American is any more less willing to be accountable than anyone from any other country. The reason our "lack of accountability" is so prevalent in the news is simply (IMO) because so many other countries depend on us that when our economy tanked, everyone else was affected, too (ahem, gas prices, anyone?). And everyone is P*SSED.
But to generalize and categorize all Americans (or even flirt with using it as a stereotype) as not willing to be "accountable" for their fiscal actions is just about as apt as saying ALL women are horrible drivers (okay, I have my "horrible days" -- but really, you can't prove that tree was there yesterday!!) or all men have the fashion sense of a demented circus monkey.
Generalities just don't wash. Just look at my driving on a GOOD day.
Well if all Americans are so lacking in financial responsibility I think I will immediately move somewhere where fiscal responsibility rules the day. Like Jamaica maybe...
BTW - I had a few extra "e's" hanging around today. It was a typo!
Yo dude, you keep that extra "e" to yo sef!

ddd - I am completely with you here. I'm disappointed your thread isn't getting a better reception, but maybe some people are misinterpreting your point.
It does seem like financial responsibility isn't very highly prioritized in our society, for whatever reason, which is a shame.
I can't imagine trying to explain the "fairness" of the financial bailout to a child... yikes.
